Job Description
Power converter circuit & system simulation, design, PCB layout:
Familiar with tools such as PSIM or PSPICE, ORCAD.
Have experience with three-phase rectifiers, three-phase inverters, switching mode power converters such as flyback, forward, h-bridge converters, DSP, FPGA, motor drive, etc.
Circuit component selection:
Understand the operation principle of semiconductor switches, fiber optical isolation, bootstrap gate driver, isolated gate driver, circuit breaker, variety of connectors, etc.
Prototyping, debugging, and testing:
Familiar with oscilloscopes, RLC meter, power meter, spectrum analyzer, etc.
Able to perform power, voltage, reactive power, harmonic, efficiency, and power factor measurement.
Power converter production:
Experience in standard operating procedures, quality control, and documentation.
Power converter installation:
Able to install transformers, circuit breakers, motors, rectifiers, and inverters.
Qualification
The candidate shall have a minimum of a BS degree with experience, an MS. Degree, or a Ph.D. in EE specializing in Power Electronics (GPA>3.5). Understand three-phase electrical systems. Ability to design analog, digital, single-phase, three-phase, and DC/DC power electronics circuits, perform PCB layout, write test procedures, and perform testing. Electronic instruments and mechanical hand tools experience.
General
US Citizenship or Green card required.
Avid self-learner, self-motivated, and team-oriented. Ability to efficiently and effectively manage time and complete tasks. Good written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail, motivated, self-reliant, and honest.
